ON THE USE OF GENERATIVE ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (GenAI)
Declaration Requirement
Authors must declare, in the Open Science Document submitted together with the manuscript, whether or not GenAI technologies were used in the preparation of the manuscript. In cases where such technologies were used, authors must specify:
a) The name of the tool or model used (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, DALL-E, etc.);
b) The purpose of its use (e.g., language revision, translation, idea generation, data analysis, image creation);
c) The extent of its use (e.g., entire paragraphs, occasional suggestions, code generation).
Where the Declaration Must Appear in the Manuscript
Information regarding the use of GenAI must be included in two sections of the manuscript:
Manuscript Header (title page of the version submitted for review)
Short statement: “Use of GenAI: [Yes / No]. If yes: [tool(s) and purpose(s)].”
Final Section of the Published Article (post-textual metadata)
A complete declaration transcribed from the Open Science Document.
Example for the Manuscript Header
Use of GenAI: Yes. ChatGPT (OpenAI) was used for language revision and suggestions for paragraph reformulation. The author reviewed and approved all modifications.
Example for the Final Published Article
Declaration of GenAI Use: The authors declared the use of ChatGPT (OpenAI) for language revision and stylistic improvement of the manuscript. No GenAI tools were used for the generation of data, figures, tables, or bibliographic references.
Authors’ Full Responsibility
Authors bear full responsibility for the integrity and accuracy of the submitted content, including any plagiarism, inaccuracies, or fictitious references resulting from the use of GenAI. GenAI tools may not be listed as authors or co-authors.
Prohibitions
The use of GenAI is prohibited for:
-
Creating or modifying figures, charts, and tables;
-
Generating bibliographic references without human verification;
-
Substantive writing without the author's supervision and validation.
Omission as an Ethical Breach
Failure to disclose the use of GenAI constitutes a serious ethical breach, violating the principles of transparency, honesty, and integrity in scientific research. Manuscripts involving undeclared use of GAI may be summarily rejected.
