1. Scope, focus, and languages

Revista Guará publishes manuscripts related to university extension, adopting an interdisciplinary approach and promoting the articulation between teaching, research, and society. Priority is given to works with social relevance, analytical rigor, and contributions to the development of extension practices and public policies. The journal accepts articles written in Portuguese, English, and Spanish.

2. Types of manuscripts

Revista Guará accepts:

  • Original Article — unpublished research results
  • Review Article — critical synthesis of the literature
  • Experience Report — systematization of extension activities
  • Interview — dialogue with specialists
  • Editorial — by invitation

3. Submission conditions

  • Manuscripts must be original and unpublished
  • They must not be under simultaneous review in another journal
  • All authors must have made substantial contributions
  • Submission must be carried out exclusively via the OJS system

4.2 Citations in the text

  • They must:
    constitute a separate paragraph
have a 4 cm indentation from the left margin
  • use font size 10 or 11
  • single spacing
  • not use quotation marks

University extension should be understood as a process that goes beyond an assistance-based logic, assuming a dialogical and transformative character, in which university and society jointly construct knowledge. In this sense, interaction with the community is not limited to knowledge transfer, but involves exchange, listening, and shared production (Fórum de Pró-Reitores de Extensão das Universidades Públicas Brasileiras, 2012, p. 18).

c) Indirect quotation

It may be presented without quotation marks:

According to Paulo Freire (1983), educational practice must be grounded in dialogue and the problematization of reality, principles that underpin the critical conception of university extension.
